Managing editor of a digital transformation thought leadership series for HPE — not a campaign, an editorial operation: industry reports, the publishing platform and site, an ongoing blog, and the editorial strategy governing all of it.
The series examined digital transformation industry by industry, with companion reports including Technology.nxt and Enterprise.nxt. Each report was research-backed long-form work aimed at readers who could smell marketing a page away.
Running it meant running everything around it: the publishing platform and site the reports lived on, the blog that kept the property alive between reports, and the editorial strategy that decided what got covered and how.
Banking.nxt arrived with an assigned draft that wouldn't hold up — 68 pages on blockchain and distributed ledgers, due to publish under executive bylines. The timeline didn't move.
I sat down with the executive editor and rebuilt the manuscript in an afternoon.
That's the job at the level under the strategy decks: when the draft fails and the names on the cover are real, someone has to make the manuscript hold. It shipped.
